What type of businesses does Slash Bank accept?

This article helps you find out if your business can open a Slash account.

Overview

Slash works with businesses from all over the world. But because of banking laws and regulations, some types of businesses and some countries are not supported. Reading this before you apply will save you time.

Businesses Slash Cannot Support

Slash cannot open an account for businesses in the following categories:

  • Sanctioned businesses — Companies or individuals on the U.S. government's sanctions list (OFAC SDN list).
  • Marijuana businesses — Companies that make more than 50% of their money from marijuana sales or operations.
  • Anonymous accounts — Accounts with fake names or no verified identity information.
  • Bearer share companies — Companies where ownership is not clearly recorded or tracked.
  • Shell banks — Banks with no real physical office in the country where they are registered.
  • Payable-through accounts — Setups where a third party can make payments directly through your account.
  • Unlicensed money transfer businesses — Companies that transfer money, exchange currency, or cash checks without the required licenses.
  • Unlicensed online gambling — Gambling companies without proper licenses, or companies that make more than 50% of their money from supporting unlicensed gambling.
  • Adult entertainment — Escort services, pornography companies, adult live chats, or sexually-motivated dating services.
  • Fraudulent schemes — Ponzi schemes, pyramid schemes, pump-and-dump schemes, or any business that pays people mainly to recruit others.
  • Hate or discrimination — Individuals or groups that promote terrorism, racism, or violence against any group of people.
  • Consumer data sales — Companies that sell personal, identifiable information about individuals.
  • Counterfeit goods — Companies that make or sell fake products that copy another brand or violate intellectual property rights.
  • Fake medical products — Businesses selling chemicals or compounds that claim medical benefits but are not obtained through a licensed pharmacy.

Countries Not Currently Supported

Slash Business Banking is only for businesses registered in the US. However, business owners can live outside the US.

Slash cannot currently support individuals or businesses connected to the following countries:

Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Belarus, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gaza Strip, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, North Korea, North Macedonia, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, West Bank, Yemen.
