What is a DAO?

DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is a business that is governed by smart contracts and community consensus instead of traditional hierarchical management.

Unlike traditional companies where executives and managers make decisions, DAOs operate autonomously through rules encoded in blockchain smart contracts. Members of a DAO typically hold tokens that give them voting rights, allowing them to participate in decisions about how the organization operates.

DAOs are transparent, with all transactions and decisions recorded on the blockchain for anyone to see. They can manage treasuries, execute business operations, and coordinate activities across global communities without centralized control.
