Is EFTPS secure, and do I still need to file tax returns separately?
Yes. EFTPS uses strong encryption, secure logins, and PIN-based authentication to protect your data and transactions. Even if you pay through EFTPS, you must still file your tax returns with the IRS by the due date.
If you prefer not to use EFTPS, you can still pay by check or other IRS-approved methods - but EFTPS is the preferred and most reliable way to make federal tax payments.
Foreign businesses or individuals can also use EFTPS as long as they have a U.S. bank account and a valid EIN or SSN.
