How do I name my DAO LLC?

Like many other types of businesses, your DAO LLC name must clearly identify what type of entity it is.

Naming Requirements

Your Wyoming DAO LLC name must include both of the following elements:

1. DAO designation - Your name must include either:

  • "DAO" or

  • "LAO"

2. LLC designation - Your name must also include one of these options:

  • "Limited Liability Company"

  • "LLC" or "L.L.C."

  • "Limited Company"

  • "LC" or "L.C."

  • "Ltd. Liability Company"

  • "Ltd. Liability Co."

  • "Limited Liability Co."

Naming Examples

  • ✅ Correct: "Lightning DAO LLC"
  • ✅ Correct: "Crypto Builders LAO L.L.C."
  • ✅ Correct: "DeFi Protocol DAO Limited Liability Company"
  • ❌ Incorrect: "Lightning LLC" (missing DAO/LAO)
    ❌ Incorrect: "Lightning DAO" (missing LLC designation)
